Music
I have played music since the age of 9, mostly piano, but also drums and percussion. I have been in several bands and music projects, from latin american inspired pop through prog metal and ambient electronica to UK Garage. I have also written music for a few projects for children, including a musical together with my brother.
I guess my heart was sold to music when two exchange students from Metropolitan Boys Choir came to our apartment and showed me and my brother how to play a simple tune, four hands. Wow! I was immediately hooked!
Expanding piano to keyboards and synthesizers was primarily due to extensive exposure to French composer and musician Jean-Michel Jarre from my brother and my cousin. Although I have to admit that quite a few of his newer albums have lost the spark, he is still the person that brought me into electrified music, expanded my repertoire and awoke my curiosity for music technology.
I don't own much gear myself:
- a Korg Radias-R synthesizer/vocoder
- a Novation ReMote SL 61 MIDI Controller
- a Yamaha P90 electric piano
- a Yamaha C-45 classical acoustic guitar
- assorted percussion instruments (rainstick, bongos etc.)
I also co-own a Banshee talkbox, which I rarely use.
For the time being, most of my music is made in Logic and Reason.
