Thesis in progress
The contract was signed late December. Finally, I'm nearing the end of my studies.
June 18th, 2009 is the deadline for my master's thesis in musicology.
As can be read elsewhere, the subject is the use of Mickey Mousing in the film scores by composer Danny Elfman (Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Spider-Man I-III and more). It's quite exciting to delve into one of the disciplines of film scoring that's often been looked down upon and scorned as too easy, lazy and cheap but can be used subtly in some of the great movies of the last 30 years.
Moreover, after I'm done it's back out on the job market, which I'm also looking forward to. I am a bit hungry for putting my skills to use and also making some money again. I suppose it's not a strange feeling at all :-)
